The Leafs aren’t scoring much this season and letting in too many goals against. So, this may be irrelevant but Saturday’s all out attack against the Edmonton Oilers had me wondering whether the Leafs should change their goal song.
They have had their current tune for probably a decade and now it’s being used by a few other teams like the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers. It also REEKS of the Mats Sundin era!
If this team is rebuilding and changing the team persona then I think it should happen to every square inch of this organization. The Chicago Blackhawks are a perfect example as their goal theme is original and fitting.
Below I have posted the current Leafs goal song and the second video is my creation of a new version. Maybe it was the song’s appearance in The Hangover but I think that the “Joker & the Thief” by Wolfmother is an excellent choice.
I don’t care what song or horn they use but they need something new. Maybe they can commission a local artist to produce something original that would fit the new look Leafs.

Could not agree more. I get jealous of the Blackhawks horn every time I hear it and hear the crowd sing along. Wouldn’t mind something that has the same effect in TO.
I’d like to see them take a page from baseball (letting them choose their walk up to bat music) and let each player choose there own goal song for when they score. That would backfire spectacularly.
FRAZ: You mean every player has their own song? I guess that would add variety. Thanks for the comment
SEAN: Yeah there’s something about that new atmosphere in Chicago but that city was always great sports environment. I remember the old Chicago Stadium. It was one of the loudest buildings in the league just before they move to the United Centre.
